Players Code of Conduct

Violations of Code of Conduct
Any of the following actions by a player constitutes a violation of the KWI Code of Conduct:

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors, or abuse of golf course property
  • Not adhering to the dress code at the host golf course
  • Use or association with drugs, alcohol, or smoking or chewing tobacco products
  • Vandalism at the host hotel, abusive behavior to host family or property
  • Conduct not becoming of an KWI player, such as acting in anger or creating other distractions
  • Failure to treat Mira Vista Country Club with respect by ignoring the responsibility of caring for the course, filling divots and fixing ball marks
  • Physical abuse, threat of physical abuse, verbal abuse, slander or libel towards other players, parents, coaches, sponsors, Mira Vista Country Club staff or members in any medium
  • The KWI will not tolerate players or parents who do not adhere to guidelines put in place to promote social distancing and player safety. We reserve the right to penalize and/or disqualify players who knowingly and willingly disregard our policies to promote social distance. Players are also responsible for the actions of their family members or one spectator.
  • The KWI has a zero tolerance policy for bullying and/or abusive language.

Required Dress at the Golf Course

  • Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward, males must remove hat/visor while indoors
  • Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have sleeves
  • Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at anytime during the golf swing

Prohibited Dress at the Golf Course
• Tank tops, T-shirts
• Denim shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts, jeans, sweat pants, yoga pants, compression pants*

*Compression and yoga pants may be worn at golf course if covered by shorts, skorts or skirts Proper attire is required at all times at Mira Vista Country Club. Questionable attire will be reviewed by the Tournament Committee. Players in violation will not be allowed to tee off. 

Code of Conduct Violation Penalties
Any Code of Conduct violation will result in a written letter to the player and his or her parent/guardian. The KWI Tournament Committee may assess any or all of the following penalties based on severity and frequency of the violation(s):

  • One-stroke penalty for each act of unsportsmanlike behavior on the golf course
  • Immediate disqualification from the tournament at which the violation occurs

Parents/Spectators Code of Conduct

  • Advice (10.2) is any verbal comment or action that is intended to influence you or another player in choosing a club, making a stroke, or deciding how to play during a hole or deciding how to play during a hole or round.  In addition, any conversation between player/spectator may be construed as advice.   This includes any conversation between player/spectator in their native language. In either instance, penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes.  Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regards to this rule.
  • Parents/spectators attend the KWI at their own risk.
  • Please silence your cell phone while on the course.
  • Parents/spectators are not allowed to use golf carts.
  • All players and spectators are not allowed to ride on the back of golf carts at any time.   Courtesy rides will be provided from hole #9 to hole #10 and from hole #18 to the clubhouse and/or to hole #1.
  • Spectators should stay off of fairways, tees, and greens.   Please use cart paths to the greatest extent possible.    Many of the greens at Mira Visa Country Club have excellent viewing areas.   Spectators should never be closer than 30 feet to the putting service.
  • Spectators are allowed to search for lost golf balls.   It is recommended that the parents/spectators should stay in front of the group that they are watching.
  • Spectators should never give rulings.  USGA officials are available if needed.
  • Spectators are allowed to carry medicine, drinks, food, umbrellas, etc.
